Unless you have been living in another country, you should by now know something about #Togikwatako and its “accompaniments”.
Anyway, this whole thing is not new and it is evident in the way things are done in Uganda. If you have driven through Naguru from Katalima Road connecting to Stretcher Road you surely have noticed the #Togikwatako stand-off between UMEME and KCCA.
The electricity pole that is right in the middle of the road is a danger to all road users and for that matter I support the people saying #TUGIKWATEKO.
UMEME has for long made the case for #TOGIKWATAKO and because of the people of Naguru who are benefiting from this distribution line supporting them, we now have a lasting monument of our mediocrity as a nation. Whoever was contracted to tarmac this road needs to tell us his side of the story. If this was in Katanga, we’d let it fly somehow… This is right in the middle of “MERCEDES BENZ” County- Naguru!
We, the people of Uganda, should refuse this kind of insult on our intelligence. Why should we allow to continue to function in dysfunction?
Are we building a legacy for our children or are these temporary measures for the here and now?
The Uganda Police Traffic department needs to deploy here. They should be allowed to use live bullets on those who oppose removing this pole from the road. We need to stop this madness! UMEME, please allow KCCA to #KUGIKWATEKO – for a better Kampala and better Uganda.
