Today was yet another day to grow as a leader. I spent the day with like minded people, being sharpened and challenged to grow as better leaders first of self and then of others. We spent 6 hours making small steps and you can be sure they will manifest as one huge Giant Leap by God!
The modules we covered dealt with matters to do with our relationship with GOD and learning to be secure first before going out to help influence others into significance. The first lesson on prayer and fasting was facilitated by Lynette. My key takeout from this was that fasting is a premeditated and deliberate action that one takes on for the purposes of bringing the soul and body under the authority of the spirit.
Angela’s teaching on Rest and Solitude was hard hitting too. My take out was that even people whose character traits have been categorized as “Sanguine” and draw their energy from working the crowds, it is important that deliberate action is taken to withdraw from the masses and take time alone. The examples from what God does when men take time off to REST and be Alone are amazing. Adam was asleep when Eve was made, Abraham, Jacob and Jesus all had amazing encounters in the place of solitude.
The people connections and generosity of kings lectures were surgical in mature. Showing how It is absolutely vital for leaders to connect with people both at a personal and at a corporate level. The example of how the Queen of Sheba drew from the wisdom of Solomon and that her access to Solomon and the rewards she got in both wisdom and wealth was because she came into his presence with a generous heart.
In the afternoon after a great session of practicing Solitude where God downloaded a song into my spirit, Bee3 then shared how to get the most out of our bibles. Having a firm grip on the word of God by doing 5 things in predictable patterns.
Listen, Read Study, Memorize and Meditate on the word of the Lord.
This was another small step of learning and a Giant leap towards making Uganda and Ultimately Africa Great Again!
